Georgia Tech SCC Engineering Vehicles

Savoy Automobile Museum, Cartersville (Georgia), USA

May 2 – August 27, 2023

The Georgia Institute of Technology, often better known as Georgia Tech is a university headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia (USA), particularly renowned for its engineering and computer science programs. The SCC (Student Competition Center) at Georgia Tech is home to seven student engineering competition teams: GT Motorsports, GT Off Road, GT Solar Racing, EcoCAR, HyTech Racing, RoboJackets, and Wreck Racing.

This exhibition offers 5 vehicles on loan from Georgia Tech. They have all been built by students for previous competitions in different categories, some of which are competitions between universities bringing together teams of engineering students. The vehicles are varied, with the SJ-I powered by solar panels, the electric single-seater of the Hy-Tech team, or the OR-7 Resilience for off-road racing. As for the Chevrolet S10 Xtreme pickup, it competes in the “Wreck” category for which the construction budget must not exceed $ 2000.

For the occasion, the Savoy Automobile Museum also exhibits a replica of the 1930 Ford Model A Ramblin Wreck, official mascot of Georgia Tech. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of Georgia Tech or just a car enthusiast looking for a new thrill, this exhibit is a must-see!
