Vroum, Small Cars And Grown-up Kids

National Automobile Museum – Schlumpf Collection, Mulhouse, France

Until March 02, 2026

The exhibition “Vroum, Little Cars and Grown-up Kids” at the National Automobile Museum – Schlumpf Collection pays tribute to the fascinating world of miniature cars, those little metal and plastic speedsters that have captured the imagination of generations since the 1940s. The immersive and welcoming scenography plays on contrasts, lighting, and display methods to highlight the objects on display.

Visitors will discover showcases of vintage miniatures, including many legendary 1/43 scale models and treasures from iconic brands such as Norev, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. Alongside them, miniatures of all shapes, sizes, and eras are exposed alongside basic pedal cars, replicas of real cars, and electric or combustion engine models for spoiled children.

The displays combine mannequins and vintage advertisements, creating a real immersion into the everyday life of yesterday’s small and large automotive passions. Along the way, you can even discover full-scale cars, such as the Bugatti 64, the Peugeot 402, and the 4L Bertin, sometimes displayed in boxes like the miniatures.
