The Maurice Dufresne Museum’s Muse

FFVE Blog

Following on from my collaboration with the FFVE (French Federation for vintage cars), I’d like to introduce you to a few automotive nuggets in the “Muesum’s Muse” section, which highlights an emblematic car from a French automobile museum. I confess to a soft spot for Georges Irats, small roadsters produced before the war in the spirit of their British counterparts.

The Maurice Dufresne Museum’s OLC 3 is part of the latest generation of Georges Irat roadsters. It is equipped with the mechanicals of the Citroën Traction 11CV in its 56 hp “Performance” version. With a top speed of 135 km/h sitting close to the ground, it was a real thrill to drive. The Georges Irat OLC 3 was a good success, but production soon came to a halt with the outbreak of war. This OLC 3 was equipped with a “Tonneline” grille, a rounded grille fitted as an option, which lengthened the front hood even further.
