British Motor Museum, Gaydon, Angleterre
2024
The Gallery 2024 is an exhibition of artworks, paintings and sculptures by British artists, with the subject of the automobile. Whether the subjects are everyday cars or motorsport heroes, there is a wide range of styles and media, capturing cars and their drivers in almost every era and situation.
In a second collaboration with Historic Car Art, the British Motor Museum has assembled a collection of works by nineteen automotive artists and sculptors from across the UK. The gallery features a range of leading artists, including Simon Britnell, Kate Alger, Neil Collins, Emma Capener and John Ketchell, working in a variety of media including acrylic, oil, watercolor, pen and pastel. In addition to these evocative paintings, Jonny Ambrose and Chris Twitchell are among the talented sculptors who bring to the exhibition their unique, head-turning works of art created in wood and bronze.
Historic Car Art was born in 2004 out of a passion for art, cars, motoring history and the racing exploits of drivers and manufacturers, as well as a keen interest in how it has all been represented over the years in works of art and advertising. To mark the occasion, the British Motor Museum is organizing an exclusive competition giving young artists the chance to showcase their work at the museum. The winning work, selected by a panel of esteemed judges, will be exhibited at the museum from Friday July 26, 2024 in the exhibition “The Gallery”. Register here until Monday July 8.
