Retromobile 2024

Paris, France

31 January – 4 February 2024

Like every year, Rétromobile brings together in Paris lovers of classic and vintage cars from all eras. This year, 550 exhibitors will be present, including about twenty manufacturers or classic departments, more than 60 classic car dealers, clubs and many sellers of accessory parts, books, artworks, and all objects related to the automobile and the collection. Let’s look at some of the stands and animations…

MG became famous in the automotive world for its sports cars of the 1920s and 1930s, then its roadsters from the 1950s, and its participation in prestigious races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Tourist Trophy or the Monte-Carlo Rally. The English brand (originally English in any case) celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2024, the occasion for a special exhibition at Rétromobile 2024. In partnership with the MG Club de France and the British Motor Museum, a dozen vehicles will be on display, including some unique models from the museum and its reserves, such as the 1925 Old MG Number One and the 1938 MG EX135, not to mention the 1957 MG EX181 speed record, driven at this time by Stirling Moss and Phil Hill.

Centenary of the Autodrome UTAC Linas-Montlhery as well, celebrated at Rétromobile 2024 with an exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of this temple of automotive passion located a few miles south of Paris, known for its banked oval, so steep in places that it is impossible for a human to stand on it. For the exhibition, some twenty iconic vehicles that have marked history will be presented: Bugatti Type 36/35A Grand-Prix 1925, AMILCAR MCO Grand-Prix 1928, Jonghi Record 350 1934, Peugeot 404 diesel record, McLaren F1 GTR, Matra MS650… Although the track has not been used for competitions since 2004, it welcomes every year manufacturers who come to test their vehicles and many events dedicated to classic vehicles.

In 2024, Retromobile pays tribute to the Dakar Rally with a new exhibition organised with the support of ASO (Amaury Sport Organisation – organiser of the Dakar Rally). Just a few weeks after the launch of the 46th edition of the Dakar Rally, the Rétromobile show will host an exhibition retracing the story of this extraordinary race. On the show: mythical vehicles, emblematic drivers and unpublished anecdotes: Cyril Neveu’s Yamaha XT500, Marreau brothers’ Renault 4LPeugeot 405 Grand-RaidPorsche 959 and Nissan X-Trail driven by Johnny Hallyday and René Metge during the 2002 edition… And big names in the Dakar Rally, such as Cyril Neveu, Claude Marreau and André Dessoude, will be present to answer questions from the public.

Every year, Rétromobile is the place for major auctions. Artcurial organises its sale at the show and therefore exhibits the cars on offer. The car sale will take place on Friday, February 2 at 2 p.m., while motorcycles and vintage objects related to the world of cars, flying and yachting will take place on Saturday, February 3. 130 vehicles from 1897 to 2022, with Aston Martin, Bentley, Bugatti, BMW, Citroën, Delahaye, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Maserati, Mercedes, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Talbot Lago will be presented. While the Rétromobile show has always hosted motorcycle manufacturers, dealers specialising in classic motorcycles, auctions and exhibitions, for the 2024 edition, a large 2,000 m² space in hall 2.2 will be exclusively dedicated to two-wheelers. Several manufacturers such as BMW Motorrad, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Indian and Yamaha will be present. This space will also host an exhibition dedicated to the history of the French Monneret family, from grandfather Georges, a distinguished pilot from the 1930s to the 1950s. to the grandson Philippe (now 65 years old) who also won many endurance races and broke records, through the sons Jean and Pierre who won a series of victories and records.
