RAD CARS of Savoy

Savoy Automobile Museum, Cartersville (Georgia), USA

Until August 25, 2024

The Savoy’s RAD CARS exhibit references the RADwood, an event movement in the automotive hobby world devoted to celebrating the 80s and 90s automotive lifestyle, The name RADwood, was coined by co-founder and COO Warren Madesen, and it is a take-off on The Goodwood Revival. The Goodwood Revival is the only historic motor race meeting to be staged entirely in a period theme located in England. It is an immersive celebration of iconic cars and fashion. The term “radical” was adopted by users in the 70s, which meant “at the limits of control”.

During the 80s the term was shortened to “rad” and was used for “cool” or “awesome”. For this exhibition, the Savoy Automobile Museum presents 5 iconic cars from its collection from the 80s and 90s. The DeLorean (1981), the Mercedes 380SL (1983), the Cadillac Allante (1990), the Dodge Viper RT/10 (1994) and the Plymouth Prowler (1999) are on display here.
