Ferrari F1 in Monaco – History and Victories

Collection of Cars of H.S.H. the Prince of Monaco

Until August 31, 2024

Ferrari F1 in Monaco – History and Victories exhibition at the Car Collection of H.S.H. the Prince of Monaco opened just before Charles Leclerc 2024 victory in the streets of the principality, bringing the Prancing Horse its 10th victory in the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix. A dozen single-seaters are on display in this exhibition, starting with two 125 F1 from the 1950s. The 125 F1 was the 1st F1 car entered by Ferrari in the 1950 World Championship, and Monaco was the Scuderia’s first Grand Prix, since Ferrari did not take part in the 1st F1 GP in history at Silverstone, due to murky start-up bonus issues. One is red, like all the other F1 cars on display, but the other is green, as in the 1950s many drivers raced in F1 for private teams.

A leap forward in time brings us to the years 1970 to 2000, with several F1 cars bearing the names of illustrious drivers: Regazzoni, Lauda, Scheckter, Villeneuve, Mansell and, of course, Red Baron Michael Schumacher. More recent is the SF-70H of 2017, Ferrari’s last victory in Monaco with Sebastien Vettel, until this year though.

Although the victorious SF-24 is not on display (of course), the SF-90 driven by Charles Leclerc in 2019 is, since it is part of the usual collection (long-term loan to the museum from Charles).
