The Malta Classic Car Collection

The Malta Classic Car Collection is the brainchild of Mr. Carol Galea, a car enthusiast. After customizing and building his own cars for local hill climbs, his hobby turned into a true passion for classic cars. He has assembled a beautiful collection of cars and motorcycles exhibited in this museum.

Cars

The museum has a wide variety of cars, from the popular cars, Fiat, Isetta, Mini, NSU, Sunbeam or Trabant to more prestigious Corvette, Ford T-Bird, Jaguar E-Type, Lotus Europa, Mercedes 190 SL. Lots of English cars, perhaps the result of past links between Malta and England.

Convertibles, spiders and roadsters are widely represented, no doubt due to the mild local weather: Alfa Romeo, Austin Healey, MG, Triumph… Finally, several “veterans” are also there, Bugatti, Delahaye and Rolls-Royce.

They have all been carefully restored, and several are presented in a special setting. The panels give information about the cars: dates, variants, production series and even a bit of history about how certain models entered our collection.

Besides cars

Engines, a few motorcycles and even a boat complete the mobility presentation. To complete the visitor’s immersion in history, the museum exhibits an important collection of antiques and memorabilia from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. Gramophones, vintage televisions, jukeboxes and even the fashion of yesteryear frame the car collection and help to put it in context. A lot of photos and posters decorate the walls. Small shop for some souvenir purchases.
