Sakura Gallery, 28 rue Meslay 75003 Paris, France
Until October 28, 2023
In 2023, Porsche celebrates its 75th anniversary as well as the 60th anniversary of its iconic 911. The “Porsche Legacy” exhibition pays tribute to this car brand that has always stood out for the excellence of its models and their timeless design. Porsche has already carried out several projects aimed at promoting artists from all over the world and merging art with the world of automobiles.
To carry out the “Porsche Legacy” exhibition, Porsche has made 100 parts initially intended for destruction or recycling available to the Sakura Gallery: bodywork (bonnets, doors, etc.), engine (carburetors, fuel pump, etc.) and accessories (rims, brake discs, steering wheels, headlights, etc.). Each street artist was then invited to choose a piece to use as a creative medium. All of them were given carte blanche with the common objective of giving a breath of life to worn or damaged parts.
It is in a 300 square meter space, located in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris and entirely dedicated to street art and pop culture that the Sakura gallery will exhibit, from October 5 to October 28, 2023, 100 new works. These will delight both contemporary art enthusiasts and fans of the Porsche car brand.
