The Museum of Agricultural and Automotive Heritage is located in Salviac, in the Quercy and at the gates of the “Perigord Noir” (near Rocamadour). As its name suggests, you will discover a vast collection of automobiles, tractors and agricultural tools, but also utility vehicles and some military vehicles. The collection also includes many 2 wheels, bicycles, Solex, mopeds as well as many old motorcycles.

Benoît Jouclar is the founder of this collection, which he has been developing for more than 30 years. Passionate about authenticity, he works daily with a team of volunteers to restore and revive a real heritage, and arrange the places for the reception of the public, and allow visitors to discover the traditions of daily life of yesteryear. Indeed, on the surface of 6000m2 of the old family farm, under nearly a dozen large awnings, the museum exhibits the collection of vehicles, tractors, and two wheels but also many objects to admire in their period environment!

The museum’s cars

On the automotive side, the collection gives pride of place to the French cars that animated our roads after the war and until the 70s, from the 4CV to the R25, from the 2CV to the DS without forgetting some Tractions, from the 201 to the 504, as well as Panhard and Simca, brands now disappeared. Older cars, even very old, French and foreign will make you travel back in time and your memories.

Among the nuggets presented, a prestigious Citroën SM, a 4CV 1063 rally, a pair of Citroën Torpedo from the 20s, Ford models “A” and “T”, a UNIC Georges Richard that belonged to the family of former President Hollande, a rare Teilhol Citadine (electric cart), and recently arrived in the collection a Hotchkiss from 1934.

Besides cars

The reception building houses several of these beautiful pieces, but also a collection of several hundred miniatures, pedal cars and thousands of objects related to the automobile or everyday life.

In addition to a large car park, the Salviac Museum of Agricultural and Automotive Heritage provides visitors with a (free) area to accommodate motorhomes, a picnic room, and offers coffee, cold drinks and ice cream to rest during or after the visit. Access is easy for people with disabilities.

The guided tour for groups of 12 to 15 people allows you to discover the space in the company of its founder, to learn (much) more about the collection and to savor many anecdotes, it will interest young and old, passionate amateurs or neophytes.
