The Haynes Automobile Museum presents the collection of John Haynes, founder of the press group of the same name. John Haynes was passionate about cars and motorcycles and built up a remarkable collection, open to the public since 1985 and his installation near Yeovil in Somerset. Organized as a foundation, the collection continues to grow and today presents more than 400 cars and motorcycles.

The cars of the Haynes Museum

17 thematic exhibition areas offer an original and attractive visit, not just chronological. Even if English women are naturally well represented, cars come from all over Europe, the USA, Japan and even India and the former USSR. It is always difficult to select a few models from such a collection, the choice also depending on the tastes of the visitor. But let’s mention some automotive legends: AC Cobra, Alfa Romeo 6C, Aston Martin DB4, Austin Mini, Bentley 4.5L and S2 Continental, Chevrolet Corvette, Citroën SM, Delahaye 135M, Dodge Viper, Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet, Jaguar XK120 and Type V12, Jensen Interceptor, Rolls Royce 40/50 Silver Ghost… not to mention several Williams F1 in a section dedicated to the brand.

Besides cars

The Motorcycles section gives pride of place to the English who were for a long time the reference machines in 2 wheels, with BSA, Norton, Triumph or the mythical Brough Superior. The Haynes Automobile Museum offers plenty of entertainment and activities for children, including an outdoor car-themed play area. A karting circuit (tickets in addition to the museum) will allow you to exercise your driving skills! Finally, café 750 offers drinks, pastries and sandwiches!
