The Automobile Museum of Bellenaves is an associative museum located in the Allier not far from Vichy. It presents a collection of nearly 50 cars mainly from the collections of its members. Open since 2000 and in partnership with the town hall of Bellenaves, it occupies a former industrial building of 800m². Very dynamic, the association punctuates the season with events around Heritage Day, Mother’s and Father’s Day, or with an annual exhibition of paintings.

The cars of the Bellenaves Automobile Museum

The exhibitioned collection is renewed a little each year, according to the acquisitions and loans of its members. The collections focus more on popular pre- and post-war cars, from the 1910s to the 1980s. We see cyclecars, Mathis and Samson, several English convertibles. There are also popular French cars like the 2 CV, the Traction, the DS or the 404, or older like a Renault NN.

Besides cars

The collection features several 2 wheels, bicycles, scooters and motorcycles, as well as a fire truck dating from 1929. The decoration gives pride of place to a rich iconography, posters, period advertisements and beautiful enamelled plaques. The museum also has an extensive collection of antique automotive magazines, including many copies of the famous Revue Technique Automobile. Located just a few km from the A71 by the Montmarault (coming from the north) or Ebreuil (south) exits, it is a beautiful stop on the road to the holidays!
