As every year, the Maurice Dufresne Museum offers many activities on weekends, and a temporary exhibition during its opening period.
Guided tour of the Moulin de Marnay
Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May 2022
On the occasion of the European Days of the Mills, the Maurice Dufresne Museum offers you a guided tour of the Moulin de Marnay which is located on the grounds of the museum. It is a water mill still in operation, and the 1-hour guided tour is dedicated to the mechanisms and history of this place.
This guided tour will be offered free of charge to anyone with a museum entrance ticket and subject to availability – Reservation strongly recommended.
Lunch, Live Music and Treasure Hunt for Mother’s Day

The Maurice Dufresne Museum celebrates Mother’s Day in a good mood and conviviality, with a lunch on the terrace, aperitif offered to mothers, musical entertainment from 1 pm to 3 pm, and from 3 pm, treasure hunt for children, not to mention outdoor games for all: petanque, upheaval, croquet, Molkky, mini-football, target, badminton, ring throwing…
Entertainment is available in the price of the entrance ticket, reservation recommended for lunch (in addition to the entrance ticket).
Exhibition “Touraine in arms (1870/71)”
April 2 to October 30, 2022
This temporary exhibition is made from the Museum’s important collection of weapons on the theme of the war of 1870/71 and presents nearly thirty weapons of various origins (American, French, Prussian, English or even pontifical), used during this war.
The exhibition also offers you to follow the course of the snipers of Tours in this war as well as the defenders of Touraine during the invasion. The opportunity to discover an unprecedented representation of the uniform of the 5th Company of snipers of Tours. A history built from archival documents and specialized works.
