Created in 1982 by Pierre Peugeot, then General Manager of the lion brand, L’Aventure Peugeot is an association aimed at bringing together the brand’s heritage elements, enhancing the family group’s industrial history, which is already more than two centuries old. In 2015, the association became the Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS in order to extend its activity to other brands of the PSA group.

Open since July 1988, the Peugeot Adventure Museum has since undergone several extensions, allowing to increase the exhibition area and thus complete the collections to present an increasingly wide range of Peugeot productions. It is therefore located today on more than 7000m² in Sochaux, cradle of the Brand, and is the flagship of the Association.

The cars of the Peugeot Adventure Museum

For car enthusiasts, this is of course the highlight of the visit. There are a large part of the models manufactured by Peugeot over the centuries, from the time of the pioneers (1891-1904) to the more recent models of the decade 1980/90. The Museum’s collections are divided into spaces dedicated to each major historical period, with careful decoration and detailed presentation.

Peugeot also has a rich history in competition, widely represented at the Museum, with obviously the cars of Rally, Rally raid, but also F1 and sport protos. Naturally featured is the 205 T16 world rally champion and the 905 and 908 victorious at the 24 hours of Le Mans.

The visit is also an opportunity to discover or review many of the concept cars presented by the brand at international trade shows, often precursors of style codes or innovations.

Besides cars

L’Aventure Peugeot tells the story of the brand, all industrial fields combined. Indeed, in addition to automobiles, Peugeot is also known for many other products, utilities, bicycles and 2 motorized wheels, household items, mechanical objects, and many others. During your visit, you will certainly be surprised by the diversity of the “Lion’s” brand productions!

L’Aventure Peugeot Museum offers a visit application for smartphone or tablet, included in the entrance fee of the Museum. + 500 texts and 1,000 archive images and animations, + 500 minutes of listening and viewing in total allow you to dive into the history of the Brand, to get to know the men and women who made it or to enjoy some little-known anecdotes! The app (in French, English, German and Dutch) is compatible with all smartphones and tablets. It connects to the local Wi-Fi network which does not collect or record any user data. Don’t forget your phone and headphones for a richer visit.

And through temporary and permanent collections, the Museum also presents a set of documents, photos, everyday objects.

A brasserie open to the public (with terrace on sunny days), meeting and reception areas, an auditorium, a shop complete these spaces, not to mention a restoration workshop for the museum’s cars, but also for collectors interested in advice, or even a complete restoration of their car. Large car park available (300 spaces).

Temporary exhibitions

L’Aventure Peugeot regularly presents temporary exhibitions, in particular to celebrate the anniversaries of emblematic models. For 2023, it is the PEUGEOT 205 that is in the spotlight for its 40th anniversary.
