The Basel Pantheon, a car and motorcycle museum, has been open since 2008. It is housed in a former industrial building from 1965, formerly a factory of the Züblin company and features interesting interior architecture with a large open central hall and a gallery that goes around the spiral building, allowing unobstructed views of the cars on display.

Cars

The Pantheon allows you to discover the evolution of automotive mobility, starting from the first cars at the beginning of the 20th century, like this de Dietrich vis-à-vis 1901. The collection is very varied and makes the big difference between popular cars such as Fiat 500, Austin Mini or Citroën Traction and luxurious Rolls Royce or Bentley, through many Jaguar or Mercedes. Sports cars are also well represented: AC Cobra, Alfa Romeo Montreal, Jaguar XK 120 and E-Type, Ferrari, Ford Mustang, Lotus without forgetting many English roadsters: Austin Healey, MG, Triumph … In addition, the Pantheon also welcomes cars from private collectors, which makes it possible to expand the collection and regularly renew part of the exhibition.

Besides cars

The Basel Pantheon also exhibits many motorcycles with famous brands such as BMW, Indian or MV Agusta, as well as several motorcycles of Swiss brands that have now disappeared. Many large photos put the cars in context, scale models and objects related to the automobile fill the windows. The Museum also has a large collection of posters of major motor races. In addition to the Mobility Museum, the Basel Pantheon offers services for visitors, including a 120-seat restaurant with a view of the museum and a terrace for sunny days. The Classic Garage offers all the services of maintenance, guarding and restoration for old cars, but also the rental with or without driver of some cars. Spaces are also available for family or professional events.
