The Heritage Hub, located in one of the former Fiat factories of the Mirafiori industrial complex, is a multipurpose space for the activities of the FCA Heritage team.
The Heritage entity of the FCA Group was created in Turin in 2015 with the mission of preserving, enhancing and promoting the historical heritage of the Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia brands. It participates in major international events and offers services and opportunities to the group’s classic car enthusiasts. Since October 2022, it hosts a museum for the Fiat, Lancia and Abarth brands (the Alfa Romeo Historical Museum is located near Milan where the historic Alfa Romeo headquarters was located). The original building of 160,000 ft², dating from the mid-1960s, has been completely restored, fully respecting the characteristics of the original factory.
Cars
About 250 historic cars, some of which have never been shown to the public, tell the story of the 3 brands Fiat, Lancia and Abarth, and we find a very large part of the models produced. Some Alfa Romeo, Autobianchi and Jeep belonging to the FCA Group (now part of Stellantis) are also exhibited. In the center of the exhibition space, 64 historic cars, emblematic or exceptional models by their design, their innovative character, their rarity or their palmares are highlighted. They are divided into 8 thematic spaces, allowing to present the history of the group from different major angles.
Thus the Rally area, a discipline in which Fiat and Lancia have particularly distinguished themselves, presents several legendary cars that have won the world championship, such as the Lancia Fulvia HF, Statos, 037, Delta or the Fiat 131 Abarth, as well as a Delta ECV2 prototype that has never raced following a change in regulations. In the racing and record space, 2 cars from 1908 Grand Prix symbolize two radically different approaches: the Fiat S61 and its huge 4-cylinder engine of 10 L displacement (yes, ten liters!) and the lightweight Lancia 12HP with its 2.5L 4-cylinder (later renamed Alpha Sport because it was the 1st model built by Lancia). Alongside them, a Group C Lancia LC2 (1984) as well as small and light speed record cars show the diversity of sporting experiences.
The Style area shows several “stars” such as the Lancia Aurelia B24 Spyder (1955), the Fiat Dino 2400 Cabriolet (Pininfarina body, Ferrari engine) or the Lancia D27 developed for the Carrera Panamericana of 1955, but which did not race, the too deadly race having been canceled. The other areas are dedicated to prototypes or special cars, “Archistars”, innovative or significant models, raids and expeditions, safety and sustainability. On the two long sides of the building, the rest of the collection is displayed by brand and in chronological order. Finally, an area presents a selection of cars of the group prepared for the Italian Carabinieri, from the 600 Multipla to the Panda, including the 1100 and the Campagnola.
Besides cars
The Heritage Hub’s collections present a series of engines that shows the evolution of mechanics over a century. More than thirty of the engines designed and manufactured by the Group’s Italian brands for more than a century are on display, such as the 4-cylinder “100 series” – which made its debut in 1955 on the Fiat 600 and was then used, in its various evolutions, for fifty years, but also experimental projects of electric motors, turbine and even steam.
An exhibition on the Mirafiori industrial complex, of which this building was a part, traces the history of this major Fiat site. The decoration is sober, to leave the focus on the cars and the building itself.
