As for Ferrari, there are 2 Lamborghini museums, a few kilometers apart.The Lamborghini Automobile Museum, the subject of this page, is linked to the super sports car brand and is located next to the Sant’Agata Bolognese plant. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the brand, the museum has just been thoroughly reviewed. It loses its name Mudetec Museum of Technologies to become Lamborghini Automobile Museum. The second, Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum, is dedicated to the life and work of the founder of the famous bull brand. However, unlike the Ferrari museums, these 2 museums are independent, but their themes and exhibitions are in fact very complementary. Visit the 2, you will not have the impression of déjà vu!
The cars of the Lamborghini Museum
A tunnel at the entrance of the museum presents a short video celebrating the models of the brand, accompanied by the sound of the V12 Lamborghini, and immerses the visitor in the atmosphere. The museum’s 2023 redesign doesn’t really change its content, other than the addition of the sporty SUV Urus. The car exhibition is spread over two floors and highlights the important themes of the brand such as historical milestones, the styling department or all-wheel drive. On the ground floor, the visitor strolls through the first 30 years of the brand, with some emblematic models, from the very first production with the 350 GT presented in 1964 to the Countach, passing by the Espada, Jarama and Urraco, and naturally the equally mythical Miura, which is often considered the first supercar in history.
The Countach, an iconic model that has been in poster on the bedroom’ wall of an entire generation, also contributed by its particular design to the Lamborghini legend, and inspired all the models that followed. An LM-002, model of luxury super SUV before the hour completes this historical part.
The first floor is placed under the sign of the modern era, and presents some current models or a recent past: Diablo, Murcielago, Aventador, Gallardo, Urus… but mainly prototypes, style studies and special series produced in very limited quantities. We find the Countach 2022 (Countach LPI 800-4 for its official reference), presented at Pebble Beach in 2021 and very inspired by the original Countach, exhibited nearby. We continue with some concepts and show cars, such as the Asterion which prefigures what could be a hybrid road Lambo, or the Concept-S, spider based on Gallardo.
The “highlight of the show” is certainly the series of very limited edition models or even unique concepts such as the Reventón, the Sesto Elemento, the Veneno, the Centenario, the Sián (first Lamborghini hybrid), aligned as in the parade. It is very unlikely that you will have another opportunity to see these exceptional cars together, to be able to turn around, to approach them as closely as possible, to observe every detail of these hyper worked bodies. Each car illustrates the brand’s know-how and is a technological experiment.
Outside of cars
Most cars are presented with an interactive sheet on tablet (in Italian and English), and an application (Android and IOS) can be downloaded to serve as an audio guide (English-Italian), remember to take your headphones!
On the first floor, a simulator (for a fee, 20 €) allows you to take a short tour in a Lamborghini. In addition to the museum itself, you can also visit the production lines located right next to the museum. You will see both the construction of the V12 and the V10, including the always spectacular stage of the “marriage” body / engine. It is also possible to privatize some parts of the museum after closing at the end of the day. Ample free parking.
Around the Lamborghini Museum
There is no shop or café at the museum. However, on the other side of the road, a hundred meters from the entrance of the museum, the Bull Bar allows you to cool off and fill up (drinks, ice cream, snack …). The establishment also offers “test drives” on Lamborghini (count 140 € minimum) as well as day rentals (https://bullbar.biz, in English and Italian)
