2026 Season at Cite Retro-Mecanique Maurice Dufresne

Cite Retro-Mecanique – Maurice Dufresne Parc & Collection, Azay le Rideau, France

Opening April 4, 2026

The Cite Retro-Mecanique – Maurice Dufresne Park and Collection kicks off its 2026 season on April 4, just in time for Easter weekend. As is the case every year, the opening season will feature a variety of activities, ranging from regular offerings to annual events. This year features an exclusive Playmobil exhibition on the theme of the Age of Machines (starting June 17). There’s no doubt that visitors of all ages will enjoy exploring this exhibition of 12 themed displays that trace the world of machines and technical progress: the Industrial Revolution, agricultural mechanization, aviation, locomobiles, vintage cars, and the world of carnivals. A fun way to bring industrial heritage and the imagination of toys together.

Among the regular activities, the museum team hosts a solar car-building workshop for children every Wednesday and a giant Cluedo game for the whole family on the third Sunday of every month. Upcoming events include the big Easter Bingo-Dingo with an original take on the egg hunt on April 5 and 6, the National Vintage Vehicle Day (JNVE) organized by the French Federation of Vintage Vehicles (FFVE) on April 26, European Museum Night on May 23, a special Father’s Day event featuring test drives of a 1941 Peugeot VLV electric car on June 21, the traditional old-fashioned threshing festival on September 13, and European Heritage Days on September 19 and 20.

Other activities, such as sightseeing rallies and guided tours, are also planned. Find the full program on the museum’s website.
